Dog Point Sauvignon Blanc 2015

100% Sauvignon Blanc fruit grown in the Marlborough region. Meticulous viticultural practices include low cropping and hand-harvested wines.

James Healy and Ivan Sutherland embody the spirit of winemaking by combining their experience and passion with old world philosophies and new world technologies. For this wine fermentation took place using 80% cultured yeasts and 20% indigenous yeasts. Maturation was in stainless steel for 60 days on yeast lees.

Winemaker's Comments

Shows distinctive Marlborough varietal character; flinty with floral notes, complemented by exotic tropical fruit of guava, melon, lemon and lime. On the palate, a mineral backbone and soft lingering acidity. Textural with a strong citrus core.

"It's hard to fault this release. You could put this in an encyclopaedia filed under Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc. It's quintessential in herbal whiffs, passionfruit and citrus fruitiness and talc-like mineral sweetness in perfume too. It's pure, racy, driven and then shows some juiciness in the mouth to woo you further. Young, fresh, feeling, zesty, flinty again, with fine chalky fringes then squeaky acidity to close. Drinkability is so high. I'm not mad, or having a weird day, this is just one of the best examples of its ilk."
