Dog Point's 2019 Sauvignon Blanc fruit is a complex, silky classically styled Marlborough rendition.
Dog Point is one of the earliest private vineyards established in the Wairau Valley and has some of the oldest vines. Dog Point Vineyard is also the largest organic Biogro certified vineyard in New Zealand, with practices including turning winery waste a healthy organic compost and collecting leachate to use as fertiliser to help conserve moisture and improve soil structure, plus the planting of buckwheat between the vines to encourage beneficial insects for biological control of insect pests. Over the winter months, sheep are brought onto the property to control grass and weed growth and assist in adding organic matter to the soil.
"Intense, precise sauvignon blanc with grapefruit, citrus, subtle passionfruit and a suggestion of struck flint character. A powerful wine that's long and linear, with strong varietal definition that's made more interesting with a hint of reductive character." Bob Campbell MW
95 Points - Bob Campbell MW
Vibrant, yet subtle Marlborough Sauvignon, with perfumed notes, freshly squeezed citrus fruits and dried herbs. Juicy with fresh in the mouth, with upfront acidity balanced by a soft, round texture.
