About Us

ABOUT US

Established in 2003, The New Zealand House of Wine was created with the aim of achieving one clear objective – to make a wider selection of fantastic New Zealand wines accessible to the UK market.

We are excited to say that we have achieved that and more, with our online store now offering the UK’s largest selection of New Zealand wines. Housing the most exciting range of wines from over 40 of the country’s most loved producers, we stock everything from zippy Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc to New Zealand’s most iconic reds.

Heavily invested in the world of New Zealand wines, we pride ourselves on keeping up to date with the country’s new and upcoming winemakers, as well as maintaining sound relationships with New Zealand’s classic and most-recognised producers. In doing so, we are able to offer our customers a huge range of New Zealand wines, all conveniently located under one roof with nationwide delivery across the UK.

More than anything, we hope to encourage others to try, buy and fall in love with the incredible wines of New Zealand, so we welcome you to browse our collection and discover your New Zealand favourites!

As always, if you have any questions or queries, please feel free to get in touch with our friendly and helpful team who are always on hand to help.

Meet the Team

James (General Manager)

James has over 10 years experience of working in the wine trade. He has worked as a buyer for some of the largest retailers in the UK, so we like to think he knows a thing or two about wine!

On the rare occasion you don’t find him with a glass of wine in hand – you might find him on the golf course. James has chosen to sit on the fence rather than choosing his favourite wine from New Zealand; apparently “it’s like choosing your favourite child!” We’ve noticed he drinks a lot of Martinborough and Central Otago Pinot Noir though.

Jac (Customer Services Manager)

With over 15 years’ experience in Customer Service and a background in Leisure and Hospitality Jac has a newfound love for wine since joining the team earlier this year. His new favourites being Pinot Noir’s from Kumeu River. He’s loyal though and having travelled most of the Americas he does enjoy a Californian Red

A keen sports fan Jac can often be found at a live sporting event, spectating with drink in hand rather than competing.

Francesca (Supply Chain Manager)

Francesca started off in the Hospitality & Events industry before moving to retail and ecommerce, with 15 years of experience there is no job she won’t turn her hand too and she always strives to be the most accommodating.

Having worked her way up through the industry from holding private events for the Rich & famous, managing restaurants on the Isles of Scilly to hosting and managing high end chalets in the French Alps. The one thing that she has learnt is that great wines have always been at the heart of everything she loves. She was once fortunate enough to have been gifted the entire range of Greywacke’s 2013 vintage, all signed by head winemaker Kevin Judd, they didn’t last very long...

Simon (Digital Merchandise Manager)

Simon has 20 years experience in retail with the last 7 concentrated in e-commerce. He has worked for some of the biggest brands in the UK including John Lewis and Homebase.

Having grown up in a family that has enjoyed wine for many years Simon lept at the opportunity to join the team. Similar to James you will definitely find Simon on the golf course at the weekend. Simon enjoys a really good Pinot Noir from New Zealand or a good Burgundy – Red or White, he’s not that fussy.

Glen (Website Administrator)

Glen has been with the company 7 years dabbling in customer service, order processing, and e-commerce. He can say with confidence Sauvignon Blanc is his wine of choice! Although he is not afraid to try something new...

When not experimenting with his tastebuds, at the weekends Glen will likely be found on a football field pretending he’s still in his 20s.
