Wairau River Reserve Black Label Pinot Noir 2019
An array of dark fruits entwined with layers of dark chocolate, leather and spice. This complexity continues through the palate, revealing generous fruit weight in combination with ripe fine tannins, resulting in a refined texture and persistent finish. This wine is bottled unfined and unfiltered to retain subtle complexities; some natural sedimentation may occur. Back to Wairau River Wine

Wairau River Reserve Black Label is a 100% Pinot Noir from the Home Block and Sam Rose's vineyard on the banks of the Wairau River in the Marlborough region.
Fruit was carefully hand-harvested cool in the early morning and returned to the winery in small bins. Fermentation took place in 4,000 litre open top French oak cuves, with only delicate hand plunging used to extract colour and subtle tannins. The skins were gently pressed off, and the wine aged in French oak barriques for a minimum of 12 months prior to final blending and analysis. 4 STARS - Bob Campbell MW Wine Reviews
4 STARS (Excellent) - Michael Cooper Buyer's Guide to NZ Wines
"Deep ruby, it is very fragrant, with rich, ripe plum/spice flavours, showing good complexity. Finely balanced, it's still unfolding and should reward cellaring to at least 2020."
