Villa Maria Reserve Noble Riesling Botrytis Selection (Dessert wine, half bottle) 2018

DESSERT WINE - 375ml bottle Villa Maria Reserve Noble Botrytis is a 100% Riesling from the Fletcher Vineyard located on the central valley floor of the Wairau Valley of Marlborough. Fruit was picked by hand through several vineyard passes which involved individually selecting bunches of botrytised fruit off the vine. Macerating of bunches pre-pressing and a long fermentation in tank allowed the free-run juice to retain its stone fruit and floral notes. Gentle fining and one careful filtration were promptly followed by bottling, locking in the characteristic flavours. Attractive Riesling aromas of citrus zest and honeysuckle are accompanied by intense Noble Botrytis characters of apricot, mango and dried fruits. The palate is characteristically mouthfilling with a dominating orange blossom and sweet spice core balanced by a fine backbone of cleansing acidity.
