Tinpot Hut is a 100% Pinot Noir sourced from two well-tended, low yielding vineyards in the Blind River and Omaka Valley sub-regions of Marlborough. Each batch was kept separate in small open top fermenters and cold-soaked with 5% whole clusters retained. The wine was fermented using a mixture of selected yeast strains and hand plunged up to 6 times daily. After fermentation several batches were transferred to French oak barrels. The remainder was aged in stainless steel tanks; each batch went through malolactic fermentation and was aged on lees.

Regular rainfall required rigorous canopy and crop management with additional shoot thinning, bunch removal and green thinning to bring the vines and yields into balance, producing fruit of exceptional character.Back to Tinpot Hut Wine
"Tinpot Hut's Pinot Noir is a terrific success, blending hints of sous-bois, grilled meat and ripe cherries. It's light to medium-bodied but offers a lot of flavor and complexity for a reasonable price. Silky tannins support the palate and linger on the crisp finish."robertparker.com
