Rockburn's Pinot Gris is vibrant, powerful and mouthfilling, with white stone and citrus fruits to the fore.

Fruit are sourced from vineyards in the Dustbowl and Gibbston Valley Back Road regions of Central Otago. Grapes were hand-picked and treated with minimal handling to preserve the character of the vine and soil.

Rockburn is named after the rugged rock-strewn, burn-scarred landscape of Central Otago. The fruit from Rockburn's carefully sited vineyards blend in harmony to yield a pure expression of Central Otago. Rockburn's winemaker and driving force, Malcolm Francis, was previously assistant winemaker at the great Felton Road winery and Oregon in the USA, where he learnt his trade.

"Grown at Parkburn, in the Cromwell Basin, and at Gibbston, the 2018 vintage (4*) is a pale, attractively scented wine, mouthfilling and vibrant, with strong, citrusy, peachy flavours, fresh acidity and a dry (4 grams/litre of residual sugar) finish. Finely balanced, with good intensity, it’s delicious in its youth, but also worth cellaring." Michael Cooper

4 Stars - Michael Cooper

Lovely bright stone fruits, ripe peach, nectarine and Nashi pear aromas flow into a fruity, yet vibrant off-dry mouth; rich, layered and supple mouthfeel, balanced by vibrant acidity and a long, fruity finish.
