Esk Valley's Sauvignon Blanc is intensely aromatic in the classic Marlborough style.
The vintage yields from high quality stony, carefully managed vineyard sites in the Wairau Valley (40%) and further south in the cooler Awatere Valley (60%). Individual vineyard parcels were harvested and transported to the winery for immediate pressing to capture the freshness of the fruit. The finished wines were left on lees and stirred to gain richness and complexity before blending and bottling.
Esk Valley is a high quality Hawke's Bay winery, and with one of New Zealand's most experienced winemakers at the helm, Gordon Russell, (plus developments in the cellar and vineyard), its wines from Hawke's Bay (including the famous Gimblett Gravels) and Marlborough just keep getting better and better. An estate to watch.
92 Points - Cameron Douglas MS (Decanter.com) "Classic Sauvignon Blanc bouquet of tropical fruit, fresh herbs, ripe apple and citrus, and a wet stone-like mineral complexity. The flavours mirror the nose, while plenty of acidity gives the palate a crunchy, refreshing texture leading to a satisfying salivating finish."

True to its origins, the Esk Valley Sauvignon is drenched in a medley of ripe tropical fruits with notes of citrus and fresh herbs. It is dry and medium-bodied with a crisp refreshing finish.
