Cloudy Bay's Pinot Noir is a classic Marlborough Pinot which echoes the style and quality synonymous with Cloudy Bay.
Fruit for the vintage was sourced and handpicked from carefully selected sites situated in the southern Wairau Valley of Marlborough, including the Mustang and Barracks vineyards. The Pinot was matured in French oak for 12 months, of which 35% was new.
Cloudy Bay is one of Marlborough's pioneering estates and New Zealand's finest wineries, a real icon with a worldwide reputation. The winery was named after a body of water that Captain James Cook found on his voyage to New Zealand. His discovery coincided with flooding, which washed sediment into the sea giving it an opaque appearance, hence Cloudy Bay.
"Elegant pinot noir with ripe cherry, plum, violet, anise and spicy oak flavours. Restrained, sophisticated and harmonious wine that is seductive rather than aggressively attention-grabbing. Nicely layered finish that offers length, power and many subtle flavours." Bob Campbell MW
