Clos Henri is an estate-grown, rich, complex style of Sauvignon Blanc grown in certified organic sites located in the Wairau Valley of Marlborough.
High-density planting and dry farming ensures vine vigour is controlled and the vines send their roots deep into the soil. The wine is aged for eight months in French oak, with lees stirring, unusual for a Sauvignon, producing a rounded Sauvignon Blanc with body and mouthfeel, with elegance and crispness retained through the gravel soils.
The property is owned by the Bourgeois wine family (of Sancerre fame), who are committed to maintaining the bio-diversity of the farm
"Quite a Sancerre-like sauvignon blanc with power, intensity, structure and a moderately rich texture. More restrained and vinous than many Marlborough examples. A wine of hidden depths with mineral and savoury characters. A good food wine that should develop well with bottle age" Bob Campbell MW

Refined and complex showing some citrus notes evolving into while peach aromas, with underlying chalky minerality. Delicate on the palate, it is textural and rich from the lees ageing with layers of minerals, citrus and profound acidity balancing this dry and elegant wine, followed by a long finish.
