Arriving in New Zealand in 1854, David Herd was a man with imagination. Unlike everyone around him, when he looked at the land he was farming, he didn't think 'sheep', instead he thought 'wine'. It was this vision that led him to becoming Marlborough's founding winemaker - a region now famed throughout the world for its wine and home to the Auntsfield Estate.
