Brookfields Ohiti Estate is a medium-bodied Cabernet Sauvignon, and a great match for roast lamb, beef and venison; a Gold winner at the Australian and NZ Boutique Wine Show.

Fruit for the vintage was sourced from the Ohiti Vineyards, situated in an inland heat trap on the bed of the old Ngaruroro River. Grapes were harvested in excellent conditions, fermented using the traditional Bordeaux pump-over method for extraction of the wine's character, it was aged for 10 months in French oak barrels for around 10 months.

"Very dark, deep, black-hued ruby-red colour with slight purple hues, a little lighter on the rim and youthful in appearance. The nose is elegantly proportioned with good depth and intensity of ripe blackcurrant fruit with notes of cassis and dark herbs, unfolding blackberry nuances. The fruit is expressed with purity and clarity, and builds in concentration with aeration. Medium-full bodied, the palate has deep flavours of sweetly ripe blackcurrants along with notes of cassis and dark herbs. The fruit is balanced by supple, fine-grained tannin extraction and integrated acidity. The mouthfeel is harmonious, and has good presence, and the wine carries to an elegant, lingering finish. This is a medium-bodied Cabernet Sauvignon with clear blackcurrant and cassis flavours with cassis and herbs, on a balanced, supple palate with a good heart and fine structure." Raymond Chan

‘Gold’ at the ‘Australian & NZ Boutique Wine Show 2018’

17.5/20 - Raymond Chan

Exhibits concentrated blackberries, hints of blackcurrants, dried herbs, toast, leather and dried spice. The French oak is really well-integrated with the fruit in the mouth; adding complexity and weight to this generous wine.
