Wairau River's Sauvignon Blanc combines Old World elegance with Kiwi passionfruit panache.

Grapes are primarily sourced from Wairau River's Home vineyard with a portion from the Rapaura site and some from The Angler vineyard, all situated in the Marlborough region. Fruit was harvested in the cool hours of the morning to maintain freshness and the unique characteristics of the grapes.

Wairau River was established in 1978 by Marlborough vineyard pioneers Phil and Chris Rosé on the banks of the Wairau River. The estate now accounts for the some of the regions oldest vines, and older vines produce lower yields of more concentrated fruit compared to their younger siblings. Today, this family-owned estate comprises ten vineyards, and all five Rose children are involved, from viticulture to the Wairau River Cellar Door and Restaurant.

GOLD New World Wine Awards 2020

94 points Cameron Douglas MS An expressive, fresh, youthful and varietal bouquet with aromas and palate flavours of fresh apple, quince, pear and tropical fruits. An abundance of fresh herbs and grapefruit, high acidity and with a core of crunchy textured ripe fruits and a lengthy highly textured finish. Delicious!

94 points 5 stars Sam Kim A stunning expression of the variety; the gorgeously aromatic bouquet shows grapefruit, rock melon, lime peel and passionfruit characters, leading to an impressively concentrated palate that's vibrant and flavoursome. The wine offers outstanding fruit purity and power, finishing persistent and delicious.
