100% Riesling from Framingham's venerable selection of some of New Zealand’s oldest Riesling grapevines. The vineyards are located in the Marlborough region, one of the world’s premier cool-climate viticultural regions.
Each parcel was hand-picked and bunch pressed. Juices were predominantly fermented in stainless steel, with some small lots being aged in barrel. Components were aged on full ferment lees for around eight months.
Winemaker's Comments
With age comes maturity, wisdom and good taste. Small parcels from long-established vines have created a medley of fruit characteristics, ranging from Meyer lemon to mandarin orange. The result is as deliciously complex as you’d hope, with aromatics reminiscent of mandarin and cream, stonefruit and hints of smoke and rock. A vibrantly intense and focused palate displays orange, nectarine and cream flavours, with a good line of juicy acidity.
