Kim Crawford's Sauvignon Blanc yields from select Marlborough vineyards in the Wairau Valley and the neighbouring Awatere Valley.
Fruit was harvested in the cool of night to preserve flavour and each block was processed separately throughout the winemaking to preserve the characteristic of each vineyard parcel.
Kim Crawford started out in 1996 from a small cottage in Auckland. From such humble beginnings, the wines soon garnered a worldwide reputation and following. The esteemed winemaker Anthony Walkenhorst joined in 2005 and today still works the estate's outstanding (and predominantly) coastal sites, where the grapes benefit from long days, clean sea breezes and crisp nights together with a long and dry autumn season to allow slow even ripening and a wonderful flavor intensity and sophisticated acidity. Anthony describes himself as the ‘guardian of flavour' crafting wines that are vibrant, bold and authentic, and redolent of their terroir.
