Tinpot Hut Pinot Noir 2017
100% Pinot Noir sourced from two well-tended, low yielding vineyards in the Blind River and Omaka Valley sub-regions of Marlborough.
Each batch was kept separate in small open top fermenters and cold-soaked with 5% whole clusters retained. The wine was fermented using a mixture of selected yeast strains and hand plunged up to 6 times daily. After fermentation several batches were transferred to French oak barrels. The remainder was aged in stainless steel tanks; each batch went through malolactic fermentation and was aged on lees.
Winemaker's Comments
Intense aromas of black cherry, blackberry and plum mingle with a hint of redcurrant. Savoury mushroom and toasty oak characters complete the attractive nose. Classic black cherry notes dominate the palate and are supported by hints of bramble, reflecting the aromatics. Structurally the tannins are soft and silky and well balanced acidity ensures good length and weight.

"A clear favourite with tasters for its bright cherry fruit aromas, succulent ripe fruits, good finesse and linear structure with a generous plummy fruit to the palate and good length."
