Mahi’s Marlborough Sauvignon is a lovely citrusy, tropical fruits style with great texture and depth married with the estate’s trademark restraint and elegance.
Fruit for the 2018 vintage was handpicked from seven vineyards, each specifically chosen for its unique attributes in crafting a classic Marlborough style for which the region has become world famous. A portion of the blend was barrel-fermented in old French oak to give greater weight, without giving the impression of it being oaked, and the remainder was cold fermented to ensure freshness. The result being a lovely balanced Sauvignon, with texture, fruit weight and acidity all in harmony.
Winemaker’s Comments
Lovely citrusy, tropical fruits nose, with some secondary yeasty elements (from barrel ageing) adding interest and depth. Elegant structure in the mouth, with a creamy, textural mid-palate of fresh fruits, and a super long finish.
